AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) have signed a cooperation agreement to provide caravans for 500 Syrian families in Zaatari refugee camp.

JHCO announced on Tuesday that the project is already underway, aiming to replace old caravans and accommodate the increasing numbers of new refugees and newlyweds at the camp, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Hussein Shibli, the Secretary-General of JHCO, said that Zaatari camp faces challenges with insufficient caravans and increasing numbers of refugees due to marriages and new births, noting that the KSrelief has generously funded 50 per cent of the current caravans needs at the camp.

KSrelief  Branch Director in Jordan Nayef Shammari said that the project is part of a comprehensive initiative by Saudi Arabia to meet the essential needs of Syrian refugees in the Kingdom.

He added that 500 caravans will be provided to the most vulnerable Syrian households in Zaatari camp, aiming to alleviate their suffering, assist them to overcome difficult conditions, provide them with proper residences and ensure their safety, particularly in adverse weather conditions.
