Jordan condemns Israeli escalation in occupied Palestinian territories

AMMAN — Jordan on Wednesday condemned the Israeli escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories, the latest of which was the attack on Jenin on Tuesday, and warned against continued violence. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Sinan Majali stressed the importance of stopping incursions into all Palestinian cities and warned that the escalation will only lead to further deterioration and violence, according to a ministry statement. Majali also called on the international community to take immediate and effective action to stop this escalation and provide protection to the Palestinian people in the occupied territories. He also reiterated the importance of protecting Palestinian cities against recurrent attacks and halting escalation that represents a violation of the international humanitarian law and the obligations of Israel as the occupying force, stressing the need to immediately stop all campaigns against the Palestinian people.
