‘Jordan to continue role as custodian of Jerusalem holy sites’

AMMAN — Jordan will continue exerting its utmost efforts to safeguard holy sites in Jerusalem, especially Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh said on Tuesday.
Participating in the 43rd session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s council of foreign ministers, Judeh said that such a role is part of the historical Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian sites in Jerusalem, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister highlighted the importance of intensifying joint efforts in all fields to face terrorism and extremism within a comprehensive approach.
