Jordan deplores Israeli violations at Al Aqsa

By JT - Dec 10,2019 - Last updated at Dec 10,2019

AMMAN — Jordan on Tuesday condemned Israeli violations against Al Aqsa/Al Haram Al Sharif, the most recent of which occurred when former members of the Knesset and extremists stormed the holy site under the protection of Israeli occupation authorities, and performing religious rituals at the entrance of Al Aqsa's Magharbeh Gate,  according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Daifallah Fayez, the ministry's spokesperson, stressed the Kingdom's rejection of such violations that provoke millions of Muslims around the world, highlighting that these actions are a breach of the occupation authority's commitments under international law.

Calling for an end to these violations and respect for the holy site's legal and historical status quo, Fayez warned against the repercussions of such actions, stressing that the entirety of Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif, with its total area of 144 dunums, is a place of worship for Muslims only.
