‘Jordan will not allow entry of genetically modified seeds’

AMMAN — Agriculture Minister Khaled Hneifat on Wednesday said that genetically modified (GM) seeds will not be allowed into the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister’s remarks came after unconfirmed reports circulated on social media about a company “importing GM seeds”.
The minister stressed that the company is registered at the ministry in July 2016 and, like all other companies, is subject to continuous monitoring.
