Jordanian-Emirati Parliamentary Committee discusses cooperation

AMMAN — The Jordanian-Emirati Parliamentary Committee, chaired by MP Ahmad Asha, met on Wednesday with the Chargé d'Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Jordan, Hamad Al Matrooshi, to explore ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Asha highlighted the deep-rooted Jordanian-Emirati ties under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praising the "strong" progress in relations across various sectors.
He underscored the potential for increased cooperation in agriculture and investment, noting Jordan’s "strong" capabilities in the agricultural sector and its favourable investment environment.
Asha affirmed the committee's commitment to facilitating Emirati investments and coordinating with relevant authorities to remove any obstacles, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Matrooshi expressed appreciation for the "close" ties between the two nations and affirmed the UAE’s commitment to expanding cooperation, particularly in parliamentary and investment fields.
He noted that the UAE welcomes Jordanian investors and offers full support through a specialised economic team at the embassy.
Matrooshi also emphasised the importance of backing Emirati investors operating in Jordan and expanding cooperation in agriculture, industry and trade.
Committee members NaseemAbbadi, Ayman Badadweh, Abdul Nasser Khasawneh and Ayman Abu Hanieh commended the level of bilateral relations and stressed the need to enhance joint investments, especially in agriculture, which they identified as a key pillar of regional food security.
Both sides concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to continued dialogue and coordination to deepen the brotherly partnership and advance shared interests.
