AMMAN — A protocol agreement was signed on Thursday to advance cooperation between the Jordanian and Palestinian governments in the field of health.

The agreement, signed by Health Minister Feras Al Hawari and his Palestinian counterpart Mai Al Kaila is meant to enhance cooperation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The agreement included offering training for Palestinian staffs on the fields of primary healthcare, notably environmental health, food health and safety, epidemiology, endemic diseases, community medicine, family medicine, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and specialised nursing for primary care.

Under the agreement, the Jordanian Health Ministry provides healthcare services for the Palestinian side, in its hospitals, as well as ensure medical treatment for a number of cancer and kidney transplant patients a year.

The three-year agreement may automatically be renewed if not cancelled by any party, Petra added.
