JPMC signs agreement with Indian firm to increase phosphate exports

AMMAN — The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) and the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) on Tuesday signed an agreement to increase the Indian firm's imports of Jordanian phosphate from 2.1 million tonnes to 3 million tonnes annually.

The JPMC said that the agreement will increase the company’s competitiveness in the global phosphate market, as well as its export capacity and sales, positively affecting its finances and ability to attract new partners, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The company said that the deal will reflect positively upon its role as an important contributor to the national economy, and will ultimately positively impact the Kingdom’s mining sector.
