KARAK — The council of Karak tribes on Saturday named Safi Kasasbeh, the father of Jordanian martyr pilot Muath, as its president.

During a visit to the Kasasbeh family’s house of condolences in the pilot’s hometown of Ai in Karak, the council members said Safi is entitled to this honour as he worked for many years in the education sector, starting his career as a teacher in Karak and teaching many Jordanians, including his son Muath, who was killed at the hands of the so-called Islamic State terrorist group.
