AMMAN — Minister of Environment and Minister of Agriculture Saleh Kharabsheh on Saturday visited the Fifa Nature Reserve to follow up on its recovery after the uprooting process witnessed at some of its sites at the end of 2019, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Following some uprooting activities within the boundaries of the reserve earlier in 2020, a committee was formed of various entities to conduct a technical assessment of the reserve and the damage it had sustained and to revamp parts of it as necessary.
Kharabsheh also inspected a group of projects in the reserve, including an aloe vera cultivation project that the local community started in cooperation with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) for the purpose of producing medicinal materials from the plant.
He stressed that the ministry will provide support for such projects, which add value and enhance food industries and self-sufficiency.
