King congratulates Saudi crown prince, deputy

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday congratulated Prince Mohammed Bin Nayef on his being named crown prince of Saudi Arabia, and appointed as deputy prime minister, minister of interior and president of the political and security affairs council in Saudi Arabia.

In the cable to the Saudi crown prince, the King expressed his pride in the “brotherly and distinguished relations between the two countries and their peoples”, according to a Royal Court statement. 

King Abdullah expressed Jordan’s commitment to developing relations with Saudi Arabia, in a manner that “serves mutual interests, boosts Arab and Islamic cooperation and solidarity and serves the just causes of the Arab and Islamic nation”. 

The King also sent a similar cable to Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, congratulating him on his appointment as deputy crown prince, second deputy prime minister and minister of defence.

Moreover, King Abdullah sent another congratulatory cable to Prince Saud Al Faisal on his appointment as minister of state and member in the Saudi council of ministers as well as an adviser and special envoy for the Saudi king.
