AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Monday met with Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces Gen. Jean Kahwagi, who is currently visiting the Kingdom.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed cooperation between the two countries, especially in the military fields, according to a Royal Court statement.

At the meeting, that was attended by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben, who is also the King’s military adviser, King Abdullah and Kahwagi reviewed the overall regional conditions.

Last month, under the King’s directives, JAF provided the Lebanese army with military assistance, mainly artillery weapons and tanks.

The assistance was part of cooperation between the two militaries.

Earlier last month, King Abdullah met with Lebanese Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties.
