AMMAN — The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) on Wednesday announced that they plan on launching the “Steps for Life” initiative for the fourth year in a row.

The initiative, scheduled to begin in March, organises trips to different locations throughout Jordan to encourage people to adopt healthy lifestyles through adventures and exploring nature, according to a statement sent to The Jordan Times.

Fees from the trips are used towards supporting underprivileged cancer patients at the King Hussein Cancer Centre.

Previous hikes have included trips to locations such as Petra, Ajloun, Umm Qais and Wadi Al Hasa.

Nisreen Qatamish, director general of the KHCF, said: “The Steps for Life initiative raises awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle while providing support to our patients who are fighting cancer with determination and courage.”

The initiative is being organised in collaboration with Mövenpick Jordan, and TREKS, which provides equipment for outdoor activities, according to the statement.
