AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday met with Kuwait Red Crescent Society President Hilal Al Sayer at Al Husseiniya Palace, and discussed the society’s activities, especially its efforts in serving refugees.

King Abdullah stressed the brotherly ties between the two countries and the need to enhance them in various fields, underscoring appreciation for Kuwait’s support of Jordan, under the leadership of Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, according to a Royal Court statement.

His Majesty also emphasised the importance of Kuwait’s leading role in providing humanitarian aid on regional and international levels.

The meeting covered the Syrian refugee burden and the role of the international community in supporting host countries to enable them to continue providing relief and humanitarian aid for refugees.

For his part, President Sayer expressed his appreciation of Jordan's important role, led by the King, in hosting and serving refugees, the statement said.

Adviser to His Majesty for Communication and Coordination Bisher Al Khasawneh, Adviser to His Majesty for Policies and Media Kamal Al Nasser, President of the Jordan National Red Crescent Society Mohammad Al Hadid and Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan Aziz Dehani attended the meeting.
