King meets military retirees in northern region’s officers’ club

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Monday met with a group of military retirees at the northern region’s officers’ club in Irbid Governorate.

King Abdullah expressed pride in his brothers in arms, stressing the importance of benefiting from their expertise, and highlighting their role in dealing with issues facing the nation, such as supporting efforts to counter drugs in society, according to a statement from the Royal Court.

For their part, the attendees commended His Majesty’s outreach meetings with military retirees to hear from them, stressing their dedication to supporting the army and security agencies.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hneiti, Public Security Directorate Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah, and Director of the Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans Ismael Shobaki attended the meeting, the statement added.
