AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received the head of Hikma National Movement in Iraq, Ammar Al Hakim, at Al Husseiniya Palace.

King Abdullah stressed the longstanding ties between the two countries and peoples, noting Iraq’s pivotal role in enhancing regional security and stability, according to a Royal Court statement.

At the meeting, attended by HRH Prince Ghazi Bin Muhammad, His Majesty’s chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy, His Majesty reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Iraq and its people.

For his part, Hakim expressed pride in Jordanian-Iraqi ties, stressing his support for bilateral projects, especially the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline and the industrial city project on the border between the two countries.

Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan and General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni attended the meeting.
