King visits JAF ahead of annual Warrior Competition

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Monday visited the army headquarters, according to a Royal Court statement.
The King was received by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, HRH Prince Feisal and senior army officers.
His Majesty discussed army-related issues with Freihat, commending the JAF's advanced level and performance.
JAF is scheduled to host the ninth Annual Warrior Competition from April 30 to May 4, at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Centre.
The five-day competition will see the participation of 32 teams from 17 Arab and foreign countries.
The competition focuses on testing various skills that include teamwork, endurance, fighting spirit, and physical ability of the teams which will comprise special operations units, snipers and security bodies.
The participating teams will come, in addition to Jordan, from, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Lebanon, Sudan, the US, Romania, Czech, Thailand, China, Portugal, south Africa, India, Greece, Kuwait, Egypt and Tunisia.
