AMMAN — The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and Al Qusour Academy on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to train 120 information technology and communications graduates in Irbid.
The MoU was signed by Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Muthana Gharaibeh and Director General of Al Qusour Academy Ibrahim Shawaheen, according to a statement from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
The MoU seeks to enhance the competitiveness of the graduates and connect them with potential employers.
As part of the agreement, a mechanism will be implemented to select the trainees and provide them with high-quality training programmes that align with the needs and requirements of the job market, the statement said.
Empowering graduates to keep up with rapid global developments within the IT and communications sectors requires advanced training courses that cultivate their abilities, Gharaibeh said, adding that that the ministry will continue building partnerships with institutions to achieve that goal.
During the signing, Shawaheen said that the graduates will receive four months of training, noting that 40 hours will be focused on life skill training, 80 hours will be dedicated to English-language courses and 120 hours will tackle IT and communications skills.
