AMMAN — The new Muslim Brotherhood organisation has decided to send a legal notification to members of the old group to hand over its assets before filing a lawsuit against them.
Abdul Majid Thneibat, overall leader of the new body, said the move is to give the old “illegal” body the chance to cooperate before going to court.
The new entity has a renewed licence and a new identity, and demands that all assets of the Brotherhood be handed over to the new leadership.
Representatives of the old Brotherhood, headed by overall leader Hammam Saeed, were not available for comment despite several attempts by The Jordan Times.
According to Thneibat, the “illegal” entity has around 12 pieces of land across the Kingdom, but he did not comment on the value of these assets.
