AMMAN — A newly designed JD20 banknote with enhanced security features went into circulation on Tuesday, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) announced. The new note is a part of the fifth issue of banknotes and will be circulated along with the fourth issue, according to the bank, which also said that other denominations of the issue: JD5 and JD10, will gradually enter circulation and be interchangeable with older notes, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The front side of the new JD20 banknote has a photo of His Majesty the late King Hussein, said the bank. The issue, which is the first in two decades, includes upgraded, durable paper quality in addition to the most cutting-edge security features, the CBJ said.
