One million people in Jordan suffer from blood pressure — society

AMMAN – Amman Mayor Aqel Biltaji on Friday said that the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) will build a three-kilometre sidewalk on the sides of Al Hussein Bin Abdullah Street in Abdoun to enable people to practice the sport of walking.
Attending a march for the Jordanian Society for Arteriosclerosis and Blood Pressure, Biltaji said that GAM is ready to support any project that would encourage sport.
Iman Janbi, secretary of the society, said that over 1 million people in Jordan suffer from blood pressure, adding the number is expected to go up to 1.5 million in 2020, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
