Pakistani delegation visits Amman to boost trade ties, business opportunities

AMMAN — A delegation from Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Pakistan visited Amman with the aim of fostering stronger trade ties and exploring new business opportunities between the two countries. The 7-member delegation was hosted by the Amman Chamber of Commerce at their office for a day long exhibition, according to a statement for The Jordan Times.

The delegation showcased a diverse range of Pakistani products, including sportswear and sports goods, surgical instruments, cosmetics accessories, hunting equipment, and horse-riding equipment. The event facilitated direct interactions and business discussions between Pakistani and Jordanian traders through bilateral meetings.

Director General of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, Hisham Dweik highlighted the importance of trade delegations in strengthening commercial ties between countries, and the importance of exchanging knowledge, experiences and expertise between them, according to the statement.

Dweik stressed that the delegation’s visit is of great importance on the economic and commercial levels, as the exhibition provided an opportunity for Jordanian businessmen, traders and importers to learn about Pakistani industries in various sectors.

Saad Ahmad Khattak, Trade and Investment Attaché of Pakistan to Jordan, appreciating the Amman Chamber of Commerce for their excellent organisation and warm hospitality emphasised the deep-rooted and longstanding relations between Pakistan and Jordan. Khattak pointed out that while current trade volumes are modest, there is considerable potential for growth.

Commending the collaborative efforts of the Amman Chamber of Commerce and the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry in organising this mission, Khattak expressed hope for future events that would cover a broader range of economic sectors, enhancing the competitiveness and global reach of companies from both countries.

Representatives from the visiting Pakistani companies expressed their optimism about the opportunities in the Jordanian market, recognising it as a promising hub for regional trade. They reiterated their commitment to building strong trade relations with Jordan, which would serve the economic interests of both nations., the statement said.
