PM issues circular to regulate union elections

AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Sunday issued Circular No. 43 of 2021, based on the provisions of Defence Order No. 16 of 2020, to regulate the elections of unions, associations, sports federations and clubs, as well as youth commissions.
Under the circular, elections for unions, associations, sports federations and clubs with general body members of 1,500, or less, are allowed to hold their elections in accordance with the previous related decisions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Associations whose members are more than 1,500 are allowed to conduct elections as of October 1, 2021. The circular stipulates that the elections will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of each body’s legislation.
