Premier presides over signing of agriculture agreements

AMMAN — Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Monday attended a signing ceremony of four agreements between the Ministry of Agriculture, the Jordan Valley Farmers Union and agricultural cooperative societies.
The agreements stipulate establishing a centre for agricultural services, a project for tracking agricultural produce, employment through organising the agricultural workforce and employment through agricultural automation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Following the signing ceremony, Razzaz said that His Majesty King Abdullah's directives to the government to employ the Jordanian youth in the agricultural sector aims at enhancing the self-resilience approach.
For his part, Environment Minister and Acting Agriculture Minister Saleh Kharabsheh delivered a presentation about entrepreneur initiatives in the sector, which are part of the recently prepared national strategy for the agricultural development.
