AMMAN – The Water Ministry on Wednesday signed a 2-million-euro agreement with the German Dorsch Gruppe Holding company to prepare the documents and designs for the Mansheyet Bani Hassan sewage project tender.

The 25-million-euro project, funded by the German Development Bank, entails constructing 150 kilometres of pipelines to serve 20,000 subscribers, according to Water Minister Hazem Nasser.

The German company will also provide sewage services and more water to the Mansheyet Bani Hassan area.

Also on Wednesday, Nasser signed agreements for projects worth JD60,000 in Zarqa and Ajloun to improve the quality of water and wastewater services provided to the residents of areas hit hard by the Syrian refugee influx.

The projects will be funded by the Gulf Cooperation Council grant.
