AMMAN — Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) has received five stars in the international QS Stars Ratings in the field of e-learning.

The evaluation is based on the students’ engagement with their instructors in interactive lectures, the services and technology provided by the university, the export of services and the exchange of expertise, and the commitment to the development and sustainability of e-learning, according to a PSUT statement.

HRH Princess Sumaya, chair of the university’s board of trustees, congratulated the members of the faculty, administrative staff and students, stressing the importance of this achievement in supporting the university’s global competitiveness, and the need to build on it and invest it to serve PSUT’s future aspirations.

PSUT’s President Mashhoor Al Refai praised the achievement, which constitutes “a milestone that crowned the university’s efforts in the field of e-learning”, whose roots go back to 2006.

He pointed out that PSUT established its e-Learning Centre in 2016 to be a major driver of the e-learning process in its various programmes.

The QS Stars Ratings is a system that serves to assess the performance of universities around the world. It was developed by the QS Intelligence Unit in 2010, and it provides more in-depth and accurate assessments by adopting a set of criteria including teaching and scientific research, employment at the university, social responsibility, the standard of universality and comprehensiveness, and facilities that reflect the quality of services, as well as the facilities available to students, and the standard of community service, according to the statement.
