Amman — French President Emmanuel Macron awarded the Minister of Youth Makram Qaisi with the legion of honour as an appreciation for his efforts while he was Jordan’s ambassador to France between 2013 and June 2018.

The medal was given to Qaisi by the secretary general of the french ministry of foreign affairs in the presence of a number of politicians and diplomats in France, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.

The secretary general praised the “historical” Jordanian-French ties led by His Majesty King Abdullah and the French President Emmanuel Macron. Qaisi emphasised the lead role that France plays in terms of maintaining international peace and security.

He also said he appreciated the permanent and solid French stand on the Palestinian issue. Queisi described the economic bilateral relations between the two countries as “prosperous” which were enhanced through an economic cooperative programme.
