AMMAN — The Royal Court on Tuesday presented 313 charity societies with financial support as part of a Royal initiative to empower charitable organisations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The support, which was handed by Royal Court Secretary General Yousef Issawi and Minister of Social Development Wajih Azaizeh, has been presented annually since 2011 as part of His Majesty King Abdullah’s birthday celebration.
Similar Royal initiatives include providing financial aid to 30,000 underprivileged Jordanian families twice a year — on His Majesty’s birthday and in the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan — and supporting 1,500 orphans in Gaza.
