AMMAN — Jordan’s inbound tourism will rise about 20 per cent in September, according to a stakeholder

“During the summer, most people who visit the Kingdom are either expatriates or tourists from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries,” head of the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) Awni Kawar told The Jordan Times on Tuesday.

He noted that summer is the least busy season because tourists, who mostly come from Europe, prefer to visit Jordan in spring and fall.

Mica Vucic, a Croatian tourist who visits her sister in Jordan every two years, told The Jordan Times over the phone that she prefers to visit the Kingdom in April.

“I try to avoid the high temperatures in Jordan’s summer, so I come in the spring,” she noted.

Um Ahmed, whose Saudi friends visit Jordan in the summer, also said that most people who came now are from the GCC countries because the weather there in summer is “extremely hot”.
