AMMAN — The Social Security Corporation (SSC), in cooperation with the ICT Ministry, on Sunday launched a set of new online services enabling citizens to apply for optional SSC subscription and inquire about due payments.

SSC Director General Nadia Rawabdeh said in a statement that the online services also include inquiring about the social security number and requesting to suspend subscription.

The second phase of the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2016, according to Rawabdeh.

She added that online services should complete during 2016-2018 and include reporting work injuries, applying for maternity allowance and calculating pension.

The online services will be available to Jordanians inside and outside the Kingdom, the SSC director general said, urging subscribers to sign up on the SSC website to benefit from the services.

Those with further inquiries can send an e-mail to [email protected]

The SSC statement quoted ICT Minister Majd Shweikeh as saying that the most important initiative implemented by her ministry is the e-government project, which aims at offering online as many services as possible online to individuals and institutions.

Shweikeh said the ICT Ministry works with the support of the government and the Central Bank of Jordan and through public-private partnerships.
