SSC optional subscribers reach 163,000

AMMAN — Some 16,000 Jordanians subscribed optionally to the Social Security Corporation (SSC) in 2016, raising the total number of optional subscribers to 163,000, 73,000 of whom have active subscriptions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Sunday.
The SSC said its new electronic services enable all Jordanians, whether inside the Kingdom or abroad, to apply for optional subscription through the corporation’s website: www.ssc.gov.jo. Optional subscribers have to pay 17.5 per cent of their monthly salary within 15 days following the due payment date.
