Subsidised wheat, barley will be sold to farmers beginning Sunday

AMMAN — The Jordan Cooperative Corporation (JCC) on Thursday announced it will start selling wheat and barley to farmers at subsidised prices as of Sunday.
JCC Director General Awni Shdeifat said that the price of 1 tonne of wheat stands at JD500 and 1 tonne of barley is JD420, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Shdeifat said that JCC coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture to provide agriculture departments in the Kingdom’s three regions with some of these items to sell to farmers who live in remote areas to spare them time and effort.
