Tarawneh meets with Spanish ambassador

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Monday reiterated that the Palestinian cause tops Jordan’s priorities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During a meeting with Spanish Ambassador in Amman Aránzazu Bañón, Tarawneh stressed that the Hashemite Custodianship of the Muslim and Christian holy place in Jerusalem is a “religious and historical commitment”.
He added that leaving the Palestinian issue without a comprehensive solution that includes establishing a Palestinian state will “keep the region in turmoil and instability”.
For her part, Bañón stressed her country’s support to Jordan’s stance towards Jerusalem and its efforts to reach peace in accordance with the two-state solution.
