AMMAN — Security authorities on Tuesday foiled an attempt by three suspects to steal from a jewellery shop in the capital, according to a statement by the Public Security Department’s (PSD) media centre.
A security unit affiliated with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army received a tip that the suspects were planning an armed robbery of a jewellery shop in Amman, and passed it to criminal investigation and preventive security department personnel.
The cadres identified the targeted shop and staked it out, managing to detain the suspects upon their arrival at the scene.
The suspects confessed to planning and attempting to execute the theft, and the investigation is still ongoing, according to the PSD.
