AMMAN — The Kingdom’s celebrations of its centennial are also Emirati celebrations, especially that Jordan has turned into a modern state that seeks to achieve welfare to its citizens, Emirati Ambassador to Jordan Ahmed Ali Balushi said on Saturday.
Balushi also said that Jordan and the UAE enjoy “distinguished” economic and investment relations, where non-oil trade exchange volume in 2019 stood at $2.836 billion, noting that UAE investments in the Kingdom exceeded $17 billion, mainly covering infrastructure, transport, tourism, agricultural, industrial and renewable energy sectors.
On the other hand, Jordanian investments in the UAE exceed $2 billion, mainly in the real estate sector, the diplomat said. As for the Palestinian cause, he stressed that both countries share similar stances on mechanisms of supporting the cause according to the two-state solution that can lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines with east Jerusalem as its capital.
