Industrial exports from Zarqa and Mafraq amount to $43.7 million during July
AMMAN (Petra) - Industrial exports from Zarqa and Mafraq during July this year totalled $43.7 million compared to $32.4 million during the same month last year. A study conducted by the Zarqa Chamber of Industry revealed that the two governorates’ exports represented various industrial sectors with the leather and textiles’ industries accounting for $25.9 million or 59 per cent. Exports of Ad Dulayl Industrial Park companies near Zarqa accounted for $23 million. Earnings from food, agricultural produce and animal wealth industries totalled JD6.9 million while therapeutic and medical requirements generated $2.5 million.
Turkish investors to market JAI’s Sama 2020 training and surveillance aircraft in Turkey
AMMAN (JT) - Jordan Aerospace Industries (JAI) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Turkish investors to market its Sama 2020 training and surveillance aircraft in Turkey. Following the marketing operations, the company will start a programme to manufacture the surveillance aircraft in Turkey where the aircraft will be equipped with Turkish-made communication and surveillance equipment. The MoU, signed by Turkish businessman Ahmet T. Ozal and JAI Director General and Chief Executive Officer Muayad Al Samaraee, was the outcome of business talks between the two sides, and a visit by Turkish business investors to the company’s plant, located at Queen Alia International Airport. Established in 2001, the JAI is still the only private certified light aircraft manufacturer in the Middle East.
