AMMAN — The Jordan Valley Authority (JVA) at the Water Ministry has detected 207 violations on the King Abdullah Canal in the Northern Ghor area. A JVA official in a statement on Saturday said that the violations included large-scale water theft that have affected the portions allocated to farmers and citizens across the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The inspection was carried out with the support of a drone, the official said, noting that the mission was organised in coordination with the Water Authority's crisis and control department, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate, King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau and various security agencies, as well as the Royal Department for Environment Protection and Tourism.

All data from the drone were analysed and referred to the concerned bodies, the official said, noting that legal action will be taken against the violators, Petra added.
