Crown Prince attends graduation of national training for school students

AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein on Thursday attended the graduation ceremony of the second class of the national training programme for school students, held at the central region's military conscription centre.

Organised by the Education Ministry and the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), the national training programme this year targeted 10th graders and was implemented in cooperation with several ministries and the concerned institutions, in which around 1,460 students participated, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Several senior officials and officers and the students’ parents attended the ceremony. 

In a speech at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Minister of Education Mohammad Thneibat said his ministry “believes in the importance of having practical activities in parallel with academic activities to deliver education in its proper form”.

The Crown Prince and the attendees watched a performance of sports and military activities by the students who participated in the programme, and he distributed certificates to the graduates.

Royal Court Secretary General Yousef Issawi, on behalf of the Crown Prince, presented certificates of appreciation to students who excelled in the programme.

Sharif Al Khatib, the director of the Education Ministry’s training activities’ department, said the national training programme aims at instilling positive values in students and enabling them to deal with the changes they might face in life. 

 

He said the programme hosted students from all governorates and that it focused on three sides — military activities, sports activities and cultural activities.
