Crown Prince turns 19

AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein celebrates his 19th birthday on Friday.
Crown Prince Hussein was born on June 28, 1994. He is the eldest son of Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania.
A Royal Decree was issued on July 2, 2009 naming Prince Hussein as Crown Prince.
He has accompanied the King on several visits and tours of various governorates, along with official and military missions and functions at home and abroad.
As part of his youth empowerment efforts, Crown Prince Hussein has launched the “Haqeq” (achieve) initiative, which involves hundreds of school students from all governorates in activities that instil a sense of volunteerism, democracy, teamwork and patriotism.
The Crown Prince, who holds the rank of second lieutenant in the Jordan Armed Forces, completed his secondary education at King’s Academy last year.
He is now a student at Georgetown University in the US, majoring in political science.
The Crown Prince is interested in reading and sports. He has one brother, HRH Prince Hashim, and two sisters, Their Royal Highnesses Princess Iman and Princess Salma.

Enthusiasm filled the air on Saturday as hundreds of students were given a platform to demonstrate newly developed skills they mastered under the “Haqeq” (achieve) initiative.
Hundreds of students from across the Kingdom launched the activities of the ‘’Haqeq” (achieve) initiative on Monday, making them the first batch of participants in the self-development project.
