AMMAN — Deputising for HRH Princess Sumaya, President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) Mashhoor Al Refai commended the university’s efforts in building the Kingdom’s academic community’s e-learning capacity.
Speaking at the opening of the conference titled “Enhancing Quality Control in e-Learning”, he stressed the need for development and change, which he defined as a necessary tool to overcome the obstacles facing academic programmes in universities, according to a PSUT statement.
Refai highlighted the role of e-learning in raising the quality level of education in Jordan and helping to meet the needs of the labour market, the statement added.
The conference is part of the Tempus Project, which seeks to promote higher education reform and modernisation in Jordan, through the introduction of a national quality assurance system for technology-enhanced learning, according to the statement.
Led by PSUT, the project consists of a Jordanian-European partnership comprising five Jordanian universities.
