Princess Muna presents UN report, attends nursing graduation

AMMAN — HRH Princess Muna, patron for Nursing and Midwifery in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and president of the Jordan Nursing Council (JNC), on Wednesday presented Health Minister Mahmoud Sheyyab with  the UN High-Level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Growth report and the resulting five-year-plan. 

The princess presented the report during the JNC's celebration marking the Jordan Nursing Day this week, a JNC statement said on Wednesday. 

During the ceremony, Sheyyab stressed that the health ministry will integrate the UN commission’s recommendations in the Kingdom's health strategies and policies. 

The event was preceded by a policy-oriented roundtable titled "Working for health and growth investing in the health workforce".

Also on Wednesday, Princess Muna attended a ceremony at the Princess Muna Nursing College for the 18th class of the college's graduates.

The princess joined the graduates, in the presence of Royal Medical Services Director Maj. Gen. Muin Habashneh, in lighting candles as the graduates took their nursing oaths, pledging to perform their duties with devotion and dedication.

 

Head of the college, Halah Obeidat, urged graduates to show seriousness in their duties and to raise the standards of the nursing profession, as well as respecting patients and easing their pain.
