AMMAN — Around 8,350 job seekers, 35 per cent of whom are women, have been employed as part of a Labour Ministry initiative to secure employment for 22,000 Jordanians, Labour Minister Nidal Katamine said Thursday at a ministry meeting.

The minister called for intensifying efforts to employ 60,000 job seekers as part of employment initiatives the ministry announced at the beginning of this year.

Moreover, he said the initiatives aim to employ people with disabilities and job seekers registered at the national system for employment, as well as establish crèches at public institutions for the children of women employees.
