AMMAN — Deputising for Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh on Wednesday attended the opening ceremony of World Interfaith Harmony Week, held under the title “Jordan: A model of harmony among followers of religions and faith”.

Khalaileh said that this occasion "brings all Muslims and Christians together" in Jordan to spread a message of true harmony, as “the world today is in dire need of such a message” in light of dangerous turmoil in the region and Arab countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

In this regard, the minister referred to developments in Palestine and violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Jordanian Interfaith Coexistence Research Centre Founder and Executive Director Father Nabil Haddad said that as “hate only generates grudges”, the only choice is to “discard hate, uproot it and address it with wisdom”.
