Eastern Military Zone foils infiltration, smuggling attempt

AMMAN — The Eastern Military Zone on Saturday thwarted an attempt by two people to infiltrate the Kingdom and smuggle in a quantity of drugs from Syria.
An official military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said that the rules of engagement were applied in the incident, leading to the injury of one suspect and the arrest of both suspects, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
After a search of the area, 35 palm-sized sheets of hashish and 262,000 Captagon pills were seized and transferred to the concerned authorities.
