AMMAN — The Eastern Military Zone on Sunday thwarted an attempt to infiltrate the Kingdom and smuggle in a quantity of drugs from Syria, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

An official military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army said that the rules of engagement were applied in the incident, leading to the injury of the suspect and his retreat back to Syrian territories.

After searching the area, 21 palm-sized sheets of hashish and 200,000 Captagon pills were seized and transferred to the concerned authorities.
