Farmer claims compensation for dead cattle

NORTHERN BADIA — A farmer in the Sarhan area is asking the government for compensation after around 252 heads of his cattle died, allegedly after drinking from a pool.
The farmer claimed that the pool contained a chemical fertiliser that caused the water to become toxic. One head of cattle costs around JD250, he noted.
Mafraq Agriculture Department Director Awni Shdeifat said the owners of private pools used to provide livestock with water are the ones responsible for their cleanliness.
