AMMAN — A unit from the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Sunday headed to Egypt to take part in the Saif Al Arab (means Sword of the Arabs) joint military drill. Besides Jordan, the drill witnesses the participation of Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The drill, scheduled to take place from November 15 to 27, aims at enhancing action among the four countries and creating a joint operations environment to face regional challenges.

Providing training, enhancing maritime security, implementing various sea and air fire manoeuvres and protecting regional waters, are among the drill’s objectives.

JAF participates in a number of joint drills, with brotherly and friendly countries, as part of the framework of the army’s training plans.
