Safadi, CICA chief meet over plans for next summit in October

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Executive Director Kairat Sarybay on Wednesday reviewed the outcomes of the sixth ministerial meeting of the conference that was held in mid-October and preparations to hold the next summit in October. 

Safadi said that the conference is an opportunity to enhance cooperation among member states, stressing the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to work with partners through multilateral regional and international frameworks to overcome joint challenges, address their repercussions and find solutions to them, including those related to refuge, epidemics and terrorism, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

The minister also stressed the Kingdom's keenness to develop the "already distinguished relations" with Kazakhstan in its capacity as head of the conference for the 2020-2022 terms.

Sarybay praised the Kingdom's prominent role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, to instill security and stability in the region.
