Trade deficit dropped by 24.4% in first 7 months of 2020

AMMAN — The trade deficit in the first seven months of 2020 dropped by 24.4 per cent to JD3.540 billion compared with last year’s JD4.682 billion, the Department of Statistics (DoS) said on Wednesday.
DoS figures showed that the value of total exports, national and reexported, during the January-July period totalled JD3.094 billion, showing a drop by 6.3 per cent, compared with JD3.304 billion in the same period last year, the DoS said in a report cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Meanwhile, imports declined by 16.9 per cent in the first seven months of the year to JD6.635 billion when compared with 2019, according to DoS figures.
