Training on intellectual property, entrepreneurship for women held in Petra

AMMAN — The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), in cooperation with the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade's department of industrial property protection, on Wednesday launched the first training component of the "Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship for Women" project in Petra.
The training programme aims at supporting the district's associations to reach a high level of productivity and competitiveness and offer new products and creative ideas while ensuring intellectual property protection, Chief Commissioner of PDTRA Suleiman Farajat said, according to a PDTRA statement.
Dina Ibrahim, WIPO Programme Officer of the Regional and National Development Sector, said that the training programme is meant to help the associations and women in the field of intellectual property rights, as a way to improve and support local and economic development in Petra.
